Every motion clip is made at one of two qualities, Standard or Premium. Standard is the default.
What each one is
Standard: smooth, natural motion that looks very good in most videos. A Standard clip usually uses much less of your usage than the same clip on Premium. Clips are 5 to 15 seconds.
Premium: our richest motion and finest detail. It uses more of your usage, and clips run up to 30 seconds.
Standard suits everyday videos and a Series that posts often. Pick Premium when you want the finest detail, or for a clip Standard can't make.
Both export at 1080p, which is included with every video. On the Creator plan and up you can upscale either one to 1440p or 4K, which uses usage. Motion clips are on the Creator plan and up.
Where you choose it
In the Studio: pick Plus, then Quality. On Standard, Clip length goes up to 15 seconds.
In the editor: Quality under Visuals sets it for the project. Make motion has its own Quality for that one clip.
In a Series: Quality on the New series page, or Edit next to Quality on the Series page. A change applies from the next post on, and posts already made keep their quality.
With an agent: ask the Agent in the editor, or an agent you've connected, for Standard or Premium by name. The Agent uses the project's setting when you don't name one.
A Standard clip needs a few words describing the motion you want, unless a camera move or a clip to copy already shows it.
What stays on Premium
Some clips need Premium. In Make motion, Standard can't be picked for these, and the reason shows in its place:
Clips over 15 seconds.
Clips with an end frame, including one that comes back to its start.
Edits to a motion clip.
Clips with more than 8 pictures.
Long motion references, where a short clip copies a long one.
A Series you set up before Standard arrived stays on Premium until you switch it. A Series with clips over 15 seconds stays on Premium, and its page says so.
Extending a clip
An extend uses the clip's own quality. A Standard clip extends after the clip only, by 5 to 15 seconds at a time, and needs a few words describing the motion. Its join is Blend, Smart Blend or Cut, since Dissolve works on Premium clips only. To add footage before a clip, make the clip on Premium.
