Describe the video the way you'd describe it to a friend: where we are, what time it is and what the weather's doing. "A rainy Tokyo rooftop at 2am, warm window glow, neon reflections in puddles" is already a complete brief. The box at the bottom of the Studio takes up to 1,000 characters.
The picture
Name a medium, like anime, watercolour or oil painting, and that's the look you get. Name none and you get a clean cinematic look.
On Plus, the camera follows what you write, so write "slow push in" if you want one.
For a scene that builds, write the beats with times, like "[0-6s] the rain picks up. [6-12s] a train crosses the far bridge." They play in that order in one continuous shot.
The music
Name a genre and that's the genre you get, from lofi to medieval tavern folk to metal. The same goes for instruments, tempo and mood.
Name no genre and you get calm instrumental lofi.
Write the sounds of the place too: steady rain, a crackling fire, the murmur of a cafe.
Ask for an artist like Nujabes and you get the style, jazzy, dusty and sample-chopped, never the name.
The shape of each track
We choose the shape unless you write it. Section tags like "[Intro] soft rain and keys. [Chorus] the drums come in." reach every track word for word, in your order. You can add times as well, like "[0:00 - 0:20] a single piano", as long as at least one named tag is there with them.
Singing or humming
The Music option decides this, not your words. On Instrumental, the default, a word like "humming" is read as mood and dropped. Pick With vocals for singing or humming.
Direction
This option sets how closely we follow your words. Leave it On and we fill the gaps you left with choices that fit your genre. Turn it Off and we follow your brief exactly. Either way, what you rule out stays out, so "no drums" means no drums. "Choose how closely Chillframe follows your brief" has more.
What a brief can't do
We keep text, signs, logos and watermarks out of the picture, so a title card or a channel logo won't appear in it. To put words on screen, add them in the editor's Text panel once the project is made.
Two quick starts
Pick a preset tile in the Studio, and its full brief fills in for you to edit.
Type @ to add up to 2 of your own pictures from your Library, and we build the scene from them.
