Reconnect your YouTube channel

YouTube access expires sometimes. Reconnecting takes a few seconds.

Chillframe asks you to reconnect when the permission you gave it for YouTube has expired, or was removed from your Google account.

You'll see a Reconnect needed badge on the channel and a YouTube disconnected alert on your Series, and we email you as well. Publishing to that channel stops until you reconnect. Nothing is lost: finished videos are safe in your Library, and what's already on YouTube is untouched.

  1. Go to Settings → Channels.

  2. Click Reconnect on the channel.

  3. Confirm with Google, and pick the same channel you connected before.

When it worked, the badge changes from Reconnect needed to Connected. Only a workspace owner or admin can reconnect a channel.

What happens to your Series

Your Series post again from their next posting time. If a Series starts making a post while the channel needs reconnecting, you get a notification. Reconnect before that post's posting time and it still goes out. Once the posting time has passed, the Series moves on to its next posting day.

What happens to videos you scheduled yourself

A video you scheduled yourself doesn't go out on its own once you're back. At its scheduled time the publish fails, because Chillframe no longer has access to the channel, and the video waits in your Library. After you reconnect, open it and click Try publishing again in the publish window.

If Google picks the wrong account

If you choose a different YouTube account from the one you're reconnecting, Chillframe says so and connects nothing. Click Reconnect again and choose the original channel.

If reconnecting doesn't stick, email [email protected] and a person will read it.
